Bright child. Growing frustration.
You help with homework, hire tutors, and do everything you can. Still, reading and writing remain a struggle. Each year the gap widens and the worry increases. Teachers may show compassion, but they cannot give your child the tools to succeed.
At Stowell Learning Center in Pasadena, we know how discouraging this feels. Parents tell us they feel helpless and children begin to lose hope. It is not about effort or intelligence. It is about learning skills that are not working the way they should. We know how to find them and how to fix them.

Meet Your Director
Lauren Ma, Center Director
Lauren has been with Stowell for more than 20 years, serving as clinician, center director, and Director of Clinical Growth and Operations. She began her career as a classroom teacher but quickly saw how many students were struggling with no real solutions. At Stowell, she helps families change that story. She is trained in Collaborative Problem Solving, The Listening Program, Revolutionary Resilience and Self-Regulation, and Trauma-Informed Care. As both an educator and a mom, she knows what it feels like when a child loses hope, and she is dedicated to restoring it.
