Your child works hard, but still struggles.
Homework takes hours. Reading is a fight. You know your child is intelligent, yet grades do not show it. Teachers care, but their suggestions do not solve the problem. You wonder how much longer your child can keep up this way.
At Stowell Learning Center in Irvine, we see this every day. Parents are exhausted and kids are losing confidence, even though they are smart and capable. The truth is, the problem is not lack of effort. The problem is weak learning skills that make school much harder than it should be. We identify those skills, and we strengthen them.
Serving Families in Irvine, Orange County, and the South Bay
If your child is struggling with reading, focus, or learning — despite working hard and getting extra help — you don't have to keep trying the same things and hoping for different results. Stowell Learning Center is located at 1150 Main Street, Suite B, in Irvine, and has been serving Orange County families for more than 40 years.
We work with students from Irvine, Newport Beach, Tustin, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Costa Mesa, and surrounding communities. Whether your child attends Irvine Unified schools, a private school, or is in a competitive academic program, we understand the pressure Orange County families face — and we know how to help.
Many Irvine families come to us after a diagnosis that explained the problem but offered no real solution. Accommodations helped their child get through the day, but nothing changed. That is what we fix. We identify and strengthen the underlying learning skills — phonological awareness, processing speed, working memory, attention — that make reading, writing, and academic success genuinely possible. Not easier. Actually possible.
