Working at SLC has made a difference for me because it has changed the way I view teaching.  It has opened my eyes to so many possibilities...by helping me see that being a teacher means to be flexible and very, very patient.  I have learned what learning disabilities are and how with special training and a willing heart to help, you can make a difference in a child's life...Working at SLC has shown me how to be more creative, flexible, patient, understanding...and most importantly it has shown me how to see beyond the "outside" and look deeper into what a child is really capable of learning.  It has made me believe that every one of us can become great, efficient, independent learners and that even though you might not go to school...you continue learning and experiencing...It has really been an amazing time being able to work at SLC for six years, coming this September, and it has spurred me on to learn even more about special needs children so that I can continue to make a difference in the life of a child...and even adults!
